Here are 3 things to look at before hiring a video production company for your faith based nonprofit.
- Are they professional? Look to see if they have a track record of working with nonprofits and that they are professional in their communications, contracts, and delivery of the videos they make. I had a client come to me and tell me that they hired a video person who never delivered! Don’t fall in that trap. Check their website and their reviews.
- Do they make the videos you need? Video production is in a niche market right now. That cool youtube video you saw may be nice looking but will it work to grow your mission? or will they be able to film and edit a two camera shoot of your training series. It’s much more than showing up with a camera to film a video. Now we need to think about who will watch it, when they will watch it, google analytics, instagram feeds…. and if the videographer or company you hire have no experience in that, then you might be wasting your time and money.
- Do you know what you want? A lot of times I get clients that want a cool video that they saw on our website. Yet they are unsure why they want it. Left up to creatives to create your video could be costly and time consuming. Come up with a plan of what video you want first, what you want the video to do, and what success is after you make that video. That way there are no surprises for the video production company you hire or for your faith based nonprofit in what video you are making.
